Building upon a curiosity which began in his teens, Michael Barone has been involved with the pipe organ for more than 50 years. As host and senior executive producer of Pipedreams, he is recognized nationally for his outstanding contributions to the world of organ music. Pipedreams began in 1982, and it remains the only nationally distributed weekly radio program exploring the art of the pipe organ. Michael’s talent and commitment have been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Guild of Organists President’s Award in 1996, the Distinguished Service Award of the Organ Historical Society in 1997 and the 2001 ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award. In November 2002 he was selected for induction to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame.

Classical music lovers know broadcaster, live concert host and voice-over artist Candice Agree from her 30-plus years on the Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. airwaves, most notably at 98.7 WFMT, 96.3FM WQXR, 104 WNCN-FM, and WETA-FM. Candice joined WFMT as a host and producer in July 2013, hosting weekend mornings, and now heard 4-7pm weekdays. In January 2014 she created WFMT’s early music program Baroque&Before, which she hosts and produces. Also she appears on WTTW-TV Channel 11 during membership drives. She’s hosted broadcasts from Instituto Cervantes New York (including the popular series In the Gardens of Spain from 2006-2009), the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Bronx Botanical Gardens, to name only a few venues. She’s served as broadcast announcer for programs for many of the classical world’s most prestigious performing arts institutions: the Boston Symphony Orchestra, UBS-Verbier Festival Orchestra, and Music from Trinity Church Wall Street, among them. Candice has written and/or voiced special promotional packages for the SonyWonder, Classical Grammy Awards, Music of the Baroque, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Austrian Tourist Board, the Tourist Office of Spain, and the tourist boards of the Spanish regions of Andalucía and the Kingdom of Navarre. She’s been interviewed on a variety of cultural and musical topics – in both Spanish and Catalan as well as English-- on RNE, Cadena Ser, Catalunya Radio, COPE Cantabria, Canal Sur, and RAC1.

Fred Child is the host of APM's Performance Today, the most-listened-to classical music radio show in America. Fred is also the commentator and announcer for Live from Lincoln Center, the only live performing arts series on television. And he's co-host of Carnegie Hall Live, an annual series of a dozen live national radio broadcasts from America's premier musical venue.

A native of Norman, OK, Heath has a Ph.D. in music theory from Rochester's very own Eastman School of Music and Bachelor and Master’s degrees in music from the University of Oklahoma.

Hannah Reich is a mezzo-soprano, voice teacher, and now arts journalist from Atlanta, GA currently based in Rochester, NY. While getting her Master of Music in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, Hannah also works as an intern with WXXI Classical Radio and teaches voice at the Eastman Community Music School.

Valerie Kahler comes to Performance Today in November 2025 after serving as a regular fill-in for Fred child. She is a familiar voice for the audiences nationwide, as host and producer for APM’s Classical 24.

American soprano Kearstin Piper Brown is delighted to begin her 2022-2023 season with a return to Opera in Williamsburg as Musetta in La Bohème. She also headlined First Inversion's Holding on Through Song IV and made her PBS Great Performances debut in Lynn Nottage and Ricky Ian Gordon’s Intimate Apparel opera at the Lincoln Center Theater.
