  • Jeff Spevak has been a Rochester arts reporter for nearly three decades, with seven first-place finishes in the Associated Press New York State Features Writing Awards while working for the Democrat and Chronicle. He has also been published in Musician and High Times magazines, contributed to WXXI, City newspaper and Post magazine, and occasionally performs spoken-word pieces around town. Some of his haikus written during the Rochester jazz festival were self-published in a book of sketches done by Scott Regan, the host of WRUR’s Open Tunings show. Spevak founded an award-winning barbecue team, The Smokin’ Dopes, and believes Bigfoot is real. His book on the life of a Lake Ontario sailor who survived the sinking of his ship during World War II will be published in April of 2019 by Lyons Press.
  • A native of Honeoye Falls, NY, Joshua returned to the Rochester area in 2018 after working at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, MI. Joshua was first exposed to classical music by his parents, and as a child often listened to Classical WXXI. His first foray into radio hosting was at Grove City College where he received a degree in Music Education. While in Michigan Joshua was involved with the Interlochen Arts Academy, Interlochen Arts Camp, and as the Monday afternoon host on Interlochen Public Radio.
  • American soprano Kearstin Piper Brown is delighted to begin her 2022-2023 season with a return to Opera in Williamsburg as Musetta in La Bohème. She also headlined First Inversion's Holding on Through Song IV and made her PBS Great Performances debut in Lynn Nottage and Ricky Ian Gordon’s Intimate Apparel opera at the Lincoln Center Theater.
  • Before her current role as the local host of WXXI's Weekend Edition and reporter at WXXI News, April spent 12 years working in the Emergency Department at URMC.
  • Mona Seghatoleslami is the Music Director, host and producer on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM weekdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. She also hosts the lunchtime concert series Live From Hochstein Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m., interviews musicians, produces special programs, and works on any project she can find that helps connect people and music in our community through WXXI.
  • Marianne has been fortunate to be involved in four decades of WXXI’s multimedia services, first as radio operations director, then FM program manager, and since 1988 as a part-time music programmer and host. She joined WXXI radio when, like many public stations, its format was a mix of news, folk, jazz, classical and ethnic programming, much of it hosted by volunteers from the community. Gradually WXXI-FM evolved, first into a classical and news format, then into a full-time classical music service when news and jazz moved to AM 1370.
  • Peter DuBois served as Director of Music/Organist at Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester from 1991 to 2023. He currently holds the title Director of Music/Organist Emeritus at Third Church.
