Live from Hochstein: Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, 10/16

A new season of Live from Hochstein is back in person and on the radio, with a concert starring the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jherrard Hardeman, playing the first movement of Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony, Eric Whitacre's October, and music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Antonin Dvorak.

You're invited to hear this music on Live from Hochstein on Wednesday, October 16th at 12:10pm, in person at the Hochstein Performance Hall (50 N. Plymouth Avenue, downtown Rochester) or by listening to the live broadcast on WXXI Classical.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been committed to enriching and inspiring our community through the art of music since its origins in 1922. The RPO presents approximately 150 concerts and broadcasts a year, serving up to 170,000 people through ticketed events, education and community engagement activities, and concerts in schools and community centers throughout the region.

Jherrard Hardeman is in his second season with the RPO as Assistant Conductor (The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Education and Community Engagement Chair) and also serves as Music Director of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (RPYO). A rising star in the symphonic world, Hardeman studied orchestral conducting under internationally renowned conductor David Robertson at The Juilliard School.

Live from Hochstein with host Mona Seghatoleslami is a series of midday concerts by some of the finest artists in our area broadcast live from The Hochstein Performance Hall. Each of these free concerts runs from 12:10-12:50 p.m., giving downtown business people, teachers, families, students, and friends an opportunity to enjoy classical music by outstanding musicians, including soloists, duos, and vocal and chamber ensembles. You can also hear an encore broadcast of Live from Hochstein later the same day at 10 p.m. on WXXI Classical.
